A legal consultant experienced in drafting
and negotiating international business transactions, Paolo began his career
as in-house counsel for CGE- Compagnia Generale di Elettricità SpA, an
Italian affiliate of General Electric Co., USA, in 1977.
A professional with almost thirty years of
experience in international business transactions, Paolo was educated in the
United States of America and in Italy. In every way an internationalist, he
has worked and traveled throughout most of North America and the E.U. Over
the years, Paolo has acquired the knowledge and experience that comes from
working with different legal and business cultures. Endowed with excellent
language skills, he is bilingual (English/Italian) and capable of working in
either language. Paolo is also fluent in French and has a good working
knowledge of Spanish.
With broad corporate and commercial law
backgrounds and experience, including product liability, intellectual
property rights and competition, Paolo is particularly strong in drafting
and negotiating international business agreements between parties from civil
and common law jurisdictions. As in-house counsel for the Italian subsidiary
of a Fortune 500 Company, Paolo gained valuable experience at the
international level.
Paolo services Italian, American and
English clients in many businesses including agri-food, tiles, automotive,
marine, television, electronics, mechanical and electromechanical, automated
tools, packaging, plastics, telecommunications, financial services,
cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, clothing, shoes, textiles, and general
manufacturing.
Paolo is often called upon to assist
clients during contract negotiations, formation of equity joint ventures and
other transactions in Italy and abroad. Clients have come to know and
appreciate the difference a multi-lingual negotiator experienced in
cross-cultural negotiations can make. Indeed, Paolo’s language skills,
coupled with his ability to work with civil and common law principles of
contract and negotiate in Italian or French, have proved decisive in closing
many deals.
